Crisp and eminently drinkable, our new-season Pinot Gris and Rose are the perfect summertime food match.

As summer begins to unfold, we’re delighted to announce the release of The Landing’s 2019 Pinot Gris and Rosé, just in time to pair with a glazed Christmas ham or turkey, or sip alongside a seafood barbecue.

If you’ve been drinking The Landing Wines for a few years now, you’ll notice something different about this year’s vintages. Our beautiful new labels give an early peep at The Landing’s new branding, created for us by the talented design team at Saedi Brand Curators.

Our new look encapsulates our guiding principles of respect and care for the land and heritage of The Landing. The triple-waka (canoe) icons reference the history of The Landing as a place of arrival and welcome, as well as the incredible artwork Niho Taniwha by New Zealand artist Chris Bailey, which takes pride of place at the Cooper Residence.

You’ll start to see this new imagery across our website soon, as well as within our new winery building that’s due for completion this summer.

While our winery team won’t get too much of a Christmas break this year – summer’s the busiest time for them and they’ll be spending lots of time out in the vines, plucking, tucking and keeping the canopies in shape now that the first berries have appeared – our winemaker Ben Byrne says he’s looking forward to sitting down with one Landing wine in particular.

“I reckon the rosé is drinking really well at the moment,” he says. “It’s nice and crisp and dry, not too sweet. It’s a really good food wine, and will go really well with the Christmas ham. It’s very versatile.”
