Tasting Notes

A fruit‑forward style, this wine shows aromas of fresh citrus and stonefruit. The palate is medium‑bodied, offering bright, juicy fruit layered with subtle spice notes from fermentation in oak barrels. Vibrant acidity brings focus and lift to the finish.

    VITICULTURE

This 2025 Boathouse Chardonnay is crafted predominantly from our younger vines, planted in 2014, 2015 and 2022. Chardonnay clones B95, 548, UCD15 and Mendoza are grown across several vineyard blocks, each with its own unique aspect, elevation and soil profile. These variations contribute layers of character and complexity to the final wine.

    WINEMAKING

Hand‑picked and whole‑bunch pressed, the juice was settled overnight in tank before being transferred to French oak barriques and puncheons for fermentation. A portion of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation to enhance texture and complexity. It spent nine months in barrel prior to blending, then was crossflow filtered before bottling.

  • Vintage Notes

Overall, the 2025 vintage was an excellent, even growing season. Favourable spring weather allowed successful flowering in most blocks, resulting in the best crop levels since 2022. Moderate rainfall in December and January supported healthy canopies heading into a very dry harvest season. Dry, sunny weather through February and March allowed each block to be picked at optimum ripeness, with great flavour definition and distinct character across the blocks.
