Tasting Notes

Aromatic and richly textured, this Pinot Gris offers layers of ripe orchard fruit, subtle spice and floral notes. The palate is full and complex, balanced by fresh acidity and a long, juicy finish.

    Viticulture

The Pinot Gris is grown on a sheltered, east-facing slope and trained to a vertical shoot positioned (VSP) trellis system. Moderate fruit exposure promotes even ripening and flavour development while maintaining freshness. The two clones are harvested separately, often over multiple picking passes, to capture each parcel at its optimal flavour profile.

    Winemaking

The fruit was hand-picked, hand-sorted and whole-bunch pressed. Free-run juice and pressings were combined to build depth and complexity before being transferred to seasoned 500L French oak puncheons and selected barriques for fermentation, primarily by indigenous yeasts. A portion of the wine underwent concurrent indigenous malolactic fermentation. The final blend was aged on fine lees for several months to integrate the components and enhance texture prior to bottling.

  • Vintage Notes

Vintage 2026 was characterised by warm growing conditions and several significant rainfall events. Spring weather was generally favourable, with successful flowering and fruit set, although bunch numbers were lower in some varieties. Rainfall during January presented challenges, but the vineyard showed strong resilience, producing fruit with excellent flavour concentration and varietal character.
