Over the 2018/19 summer, New Zealand’s Far North has enjoyed a very dry and warm set of weather conditions that have been ideal for growing grapes. Coupled with our maturing grapevines and a lot of work by the vineyard team, it has resulted in an outstanding level of increased production for high-quality wines in the 2019 year.
Following the vineyard team spending months tending the vines to keep them healthy and productive, various combinations of the landscape, nursery and vineyard teams hand-picked the grapes from mid-February to the end of March.
Winemaking is in progress for Pinot Gris, Rosé, Chardonnay and Syrah and small quantities of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Sangiovese. We are all excited about the 2019 wines from this fabulous season and look forward to their availability, starting with the Pinot Gris and Rosé later this year.
